Reese Kelly (Embodied Values Bodywork)
As a trans person and former competitive athlete, living in my body has been a journey. I’ve struggled to reconcile physical and psychological pain, to accept the limits and quirks of my body, and to feel grateful for what it teaches me every day. I’ve also experienced the transformative power of finding joy, pride, and comfort in my own skin. In my life, I’ve sought out numerous therapeutic modalities to heal the pain and bring me into my body. Without a doubt, bodywork and yoga/meditation have been the most effective in helping heal my physical, mental, and spiritual self. I am grateful to be able to offer these same modalities to others. I am a certified massage therapist practicing out of the Wellness Center & Massage Institute, located at 164 N. Main St., St. Albans, VT. I work Wednesdays, Thursdays, every other weekend, and by request. Book here: https://tinyurl.com/reese-kelly I offer body-positive massage therapy services that integrate Deep Tissue (neuromuscular therapy), Shiatsu, Sports Massage, Thai Massage, Reflexology, and Swedish Massage techniques. I curate each session to meet the needs and goals of each client, which may include addressing specific areas of pain or range of motion issues, achieving a state of deep relaxation, or the management of chronic conditions. I also offer stand-alone sessions of Thai Massage and Reiki. I am affirming and inclusive of clients of various ages, cultures, disabilities, gender identities and expressions, races, sexualities, and sizes, and I am LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and fat friendly. I am a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and the Association of Bodywork & Massage Professionals and I am a certified yoga instructor. I also hold a Ph.D. in Sociology and have two decades of professional experience in higher education and diversity, equity, and inclusion work.
