Nick Hamdi (Karuna: Nutrition and Movement)
Nick (he/they) works with clients across the lifespan to redefine and understand health, connect with their bodies, and find enjoyment and balance in the ways that they eat and live. Nick has lived experience in a larger body size and identifies as a fat-positive dietitian. He uses a trauma-informed approach to counseling, and regularly integrates harm reduction principles into his practice. Nick enjoys working with folks from all backgrounds and walks of life, and especially loves working with LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and Arabic-speaking clients.
Nick is a California native, who completed his BS at the University of California, Davis, and his MS and Dietetic Internship at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Nick is currently a doctoral student in Rhode Island, where he leads a program to educate pediatricians, parents, and caregivers about feeding young children.
When Nick isn’t working with clients or at school, you can find them exploring the outdoors with their dog or in the ceramics studio making art.
