“Some basics about me: I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and have been in private practice since 2002. I have worked with individuals, couples, families, and groups in a variety of therapeutic settings since 1994 and received my Masters in Psychology in 1999 from Antioch New England Graduate School. Over the years I have worked as a therapist in a variety of settings including mental health agencies, schools, and community-based programs, and have been proud and grateful to bring all of those experiences and skills to my private practice.
I am a member in the following professional organizations: American Counseling Association, Vermont Mental Health Counselors Association, and WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health).
Every therapist brings two things to the work: their personal style, and their clinical orientation (based in various psychological theories). My goal is to reflect my authenticity as a person and as a professional, and so, my personal style is one of transparency, non-judgement and openness. I see my role as a clinician from the perspective of an Ally — to whoever you are, and are unfolding to be, and to the work that you choose to do. My overall clinical orientation draws from three particular psychological theories: Psychodynamic/Object-Relations, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Relational-Cultural. I am also fully trained in EMDR as a more specialized method of working with issues that are more “stubbornly” staying beneath that surface of conscious awareness.”
