Lindsay Foreman (Lindsay Foreman Counseling)

 Therapy & Counseling /

I meet clients, first and foremost as a fellow human being who understands that life can be challenging. I believe we all have inherent worth, resilience, wisdom, and compassion. However, life circumstances, oppression, trauma, attachment wounds, and daily stressors can disconnect us from our body and our capacity to access these essential qualities. My primary role as a therapist is to help you to remember and reinhabit these inherent qualities, so that you can live more fully and with greater ease. We also can focus on building skills that align with your values and transforming patterns that are no longer serving you. I draw from a variety of modalities; and will explore collaboratively with you to find which approach or mixture of approaches best meets your needs. The main modalities I use are: somatic-based mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I value building a strong and caring therapeutic relationship and believe that therapy can be fun and humor can be healing. I bring warmth, gentle presence, and over 20 years of experience in mindfulness, education and social services. I am a queer, spiritually oriented, non-binary parent who is passionate about social justice, love and liberation. I serve young adults and adults who are ready to engage in deep and meaningful therapeutic work. I am pre-licensed working towards licensure as a clinical mental health counselor.
