Lauren Bierman (Long Trail Psychiatry )
I am a queer identified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner with an additional board certification in adult-geriatric primary care. While working in primary care, I found that there was a vast need for mental health services in our community. I realized that I could help fill that need, so I went back to school to study psychiatry. Now, I’m honored to be able to serve our community by providing holistic mental health care and education across the lifespan. My practice incorporates mindfulness, yoga, and Ayurveda because I believe true mental health care focuses on the whole person, and not just the mind or the med.
My professional path has been dedicated to supporting marginalized communities, with a particular focus on mental health equity. I have worked diligently to cultivate a practice that is not only clinically competent but also culturally sensitive and attuned to the diverse needs of the LGBTQ+ population. I believe that effective mental health care requires a holistic approach that considers the whole person, including their identity, experiences, and social context.
In my practice, I prioritize creating an environment where patients feel safe to express themselves authentically. I strive to build trust and rapport, ensuring that each individual feels respected and heard. My approach is collaborative, empowering patients to take an active role in their care and supporting them in achieving their mental health goals.
I am honored to serve my community and contribute to the creation of a more inclusive and equitable healthcare system. My goal is to empower individuals, foster resilience, and promote healing, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to live their fullest, most authentic lives.
