Kate Dearth, LICSW & EMDR Certified

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Mental Health, Therapy & Counseling, Trans Letter of Support, Transgender Care /

KD Collaborations

Hello! My name is Kate (she/they) and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LICSW) and EMDR Certified Therapist who runs a telehealth & consultation services business, KD Collaborations. On the therapy side of my practice, I work individually with both adolescents and adults as they seek to address symptoms of personal and cultural trauma (including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, as well as navigating periods of grief & loss, and attachment & adjustment challenges). Though I get to support folks from a range of backgrounds, I have pursued a specialty over my career in supporting those who are 2SLGBTQIA+, across ranges of gender, and sexuality, diversity (with particular expertise in working with transgender and/or non-binary clients). Though my work is tailored with each client, I root my practice in the lenses of human rights, social justice, systems theory, as well as trauma- and attachment-responsive frameworks; and prioritize anti-oppressive, collaborative, strengths-based, and solutions-focused approaches. And while nearly every client I support tends to use – and respond well to – EMDR therapy, I also apply techniques from CBT, DBT, IFS, and creative expressions techniques. To support the quality of care I can offer, outside of the actual session I attend regular trainings, peer consultations, and attend to my own personal development work. Ultimately, my main goal is to co-build trusting, safe relationships with my clients in order to collaborate with them on reducing their distress, AND improving the relationships with themselves & their communities. Please note: I currently only offer services online (aka telehealth) on Tuesdays, and take private/self-pay only but with a sliding scale available.
