Julia Kimball (Open Heart Counseling PLC)

Mental Health, Therapy & Counseling / Posted 11 months ago

I believe in the innate potential of all human beings to grow and change. This is the cornerstone of my social work practice, and my professional commitment – to myself and to you – is to consistently use that conviction to inform my work. Practicing from this value has allowed me to build relationships with my clients that help them build their strengths, harness their assets, and assess their needs to create creative, effective, and lasting change in their lives.
I believe there is room for creativity within the therapy hour and will work with you to discover how to do therapy together in a way that works for you. I always begin with a strengths-based model that focuses on where you want to be – and then collaborate with you as you problem-solve, experiment, explore and journey toward that goal.
I am experienced in working with individuals experiencing life transitions, anxiety, depression, PTSD and other effects of trauma, grief and loss, aging, and parenting and relationship challenges. I have extensive experience working with individuals with Autism spectrum disorders and intellectual disabilities and their families.
