I have had the honor of providing psychotherapy to a rich diversity of adult clients for over 10 years. In that time, I have come to firmly believe that a good, comfortable “fit” between therapist and client is crucial in creating the sort of safe, supportive relationship that leads to the best therapy outcomes.
While I strongly believe in tailoring my approach to the individual client’s wants and needs, I also draw on a foundation of theories and values to assist my clients with the challenges they face. Some of these include:
- Gestalt Therapy: A holistic theory that focuses on the whole person (mind, body, and spirit) and how we as human beings construct our worlds and experiences through our unique perceptual lenses;
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy: An approach that helps us to stay non-judgmental, present-centered, and curious observers of our thoughts, feelings, and actions;
- Psychodynamic Psychotherapy: A collection of theoretical models that draw on our past experiences to help us better understand the patterns and cycles in which we often find ourselves stuck.
Specialties: LGBTQ concerns, relationships and intimacy, anxiety, depression, mindfulness-based therapy, gestalt therapy, somatic psychotherapy
