Trans Support Groups Program
A New Space for Community, Connection, and Care.
The Pride Center of Vermont is thrilled to announce the launch of our new Trans Support Groups Pilot program. Recognizing the vital need for dedicated, safe, and affirming spaces, this pilot is designed to offer a supportive environment where transgender, nonbinary, genderqueer, and gender-expansive individuals can connect, share experiences, and find community.
Whether you are navigating the early stages of your transition, looking for peer support, or simply seeking a space where your identity is celebrated and understood without explanation, you belong here.
Why a Pilot Program?
Community needs are constantly evolving, and we want to ensure our programming evolves with them. This pilot program serves as a foundation. By launching these initial support groups, we aim to gather direct feedback from participants to understand what works best, what topics need more focus, and how we can sustainably expand our transgender peer support services in the future.
Your presence and your voice in these early groups will directly shape the future of trans programming at the Pride Center.

What to Expect
- Peer-Led & Affirming: Groups are facilitated by trained peer leaders from the trans community who understand the unique joys and challenges of navigating the world as a trans person.
- Confidential & Safe: We strictly uphold confidentiality. What is shared in the group stays in the group.
- Structured Yet Flexible: While we will have general themes and discussion prompts (ranging from navigating healthcare and coming out to trans joy and relationship dynamics), the conversation is ultimately driven by what you bring to the room.
- Zero Cost: Like most of our peer support programs, this pilot is completely free to attend.
How to Join
No formal registration or diagnosis is required to attend, but RSVPing helps us ensure we have enough space and refreshments for everyone!
- To RSVP: Please visit our Event Page and click the registration link.
- Accessibility Notes: The Pride Center is a wheelchair-accessible space. If you have specific accessibility needs (such as ASL interpretation, sensory accommodations, or joining virtually), please reach out to us at least 48 hours before the group meets.
We Want Your Feedback!
Because this is a pilot program, your input is incredibly valuable to us. Throughout the pilot, we will provide brief, anonymous feedback forms for participants. If you have ideas, suggestions, or want to share your experience, you can also email our programming team directly.
