The Gallery at Main Street Landing features Contemporary and Non-traditional art from Vermont artists as well as hosting a permanent video exhibition booth that shows video installations by artists from all over the world in bi-monthly exhibits. Please join Main Street Landing and Little Umbrella in welcoming Tatiana E. Zelazo and video artist Eden Mitsenmacher.
Tatiana E. Zelazo: “Nation et al.”
This series is meant to explore gender and the relationship between the queer community and their allies. It is meant to illuminate issues, topics, and struggles of this exceptional group of people without talking over or for them. It’s about how to be a better ally in the nation we are living in today, as well as challenging the misnomer that to be a patriot you can never criticize your country.
Eden Mitsenmacher: “These Boots are Made for Walkin”
These Boots are made for walking poses a showy, theatrical quandary. As this is a particularly pertinent moment to examine the song in relation to its sexual politics and use as a protest song (These Boots are Made for Marching). Undermining the idea of the archetypal “feisty woman scorned” protagonist with wit and pulsating udder-like toes.
Join us for an artist reception, March 6th, 5-8pm as part of Art Map Burlington First Friday Art
This exhibit runs from March-April 2020
