Vermont Pride Seder
September 21, 2022 @ 7:30 pm
FreeThe Pride Seder is a ritual that chronicles the liberation of LGBTQ+ people, much like the Passover Seder that tells the story of the liberation of the Jewish people. The first Pride Seder took place in 1995 at the Berkeley Queer Minyan. Copies of the text have travelled to B’nai Jeshurun in New York, Congregation Sha’ar Zahav in San Francisco, and many other communities around the world. We have adapted the ritual this year for our first Vermont event.
The Vermont Pride Seder comes three days after the Vermont Pride Festival and Parade. Join a diverse gathering of Vermont LGBTQ+ Jews, Jew-adjacent folks, and allies of all ages to celebrate our coming out of bondage with song, prayer, and an unusual and poignant seder plate.
