A purple background with bubbles that each read: "Do you work in rural VT in healthcare, social services, wellness, or mental/emotional support?" "If so, do you work with LGBTQ+ people? (The answer is yes!) SafeSpace Anti-Violence Program invites you to a free virtual statewide Rural Provider Education Series!"

About March’s Session: Inclusive Practices and Barriers to Access
Thurs. 3/2 10am-11am or Mon. 3/6 2pm-3pm

Where do our commitments to inclusion and belonging show up in our physical spaces, policies, practices, and culture? What encourages and discourages people from seeking help or accessing services or support? Using examples from our work, we will begin to identify which areas your organization wants to invest energy into shifting to better support LGBTQ+ survivors of sexual violence, intimate partner violence, dating violence, or stalking. The following session, Making An Accountability Action Plan, is designed to be an excellent follow up to this session, but they can also be attended independently.

About this Series:

This series is designed for rural community support organizations to spend time with colleagues from across rural Vermont working toward increased support and access for rural LGBTQ+ survivors of sexual violence, intimate partner violence, dating violence, or stalking. This series is free for rural organizations, from healthcare to social services to community organizing bodies to emergency services. This series is facilitated by SafeSpace Anti-Violence Program’s Rural Advocacy Coordinator Shea Witzberger, with co-facilitation support by the fabulous SafeSpace team.

We envision one hour per month to come together and learn, and another hour per month available to any organization that chooses to access personalized/tailored consulting support or technical assistance. This series runs November ’22- March ’23. The monthly installments can be attended individually or together. There are two time slots available each month to accommodate for folks’ busy schedules and lives. Please only choose one (Monday or Thursday) slot per participant per month. We suggest attending in pairs or trios for most impact, though individuals are welcome.
