Pride Hikes Online: Ask A Naturalist

February 13, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Free
Connect with LGBTQIA++ community over our love of the great outdoors! Since we can’t get together outside for our monthly Pride Hikes for now, we’re creating a safe, affirming space for LGBTQIA++ “Birds of a Feather” to flock together online.
This is a time to share our stories about our connections with nature outside our doorsteps, check in with each other, and learn a little about birds. We will have two Naturalists on hand, Gwen and Sarah, who will be ready to answer your questions about the natural world in wintertime. Curious about migration, hibernation, bird irruptions, winter adaptations of different animals? Come join the conversation.
The Great Backyard Bird Count runs from February 12 – 15. We’ll let you know how you can participate (it takes as little as 15 minutes from inside your own house.)
Your Pride Hike Online co-hosts this month:
Gwendolyn Causer (she/her) – Audubon Vermont, Teacher/Naturalist
Sarah Hooghuis (she/her) – Audubon Vermont, AmeriCorps Member
Justin Marsh (they/them) – Pride Center of Vermont, Director of Communications and Development
Amanda Rohdenburg (she/her) – Outright Vermont, Associate Director
Pride Hikes are a collaboration between Audubon Vermont, the Pride Center of Vermont, and Outright Vermont. Pride Hikes have been happening every month since June of 2018 and go beyond being “welcoming to everyone” to creating a safe, affirming space for LGBTQIA++ community members.
All ages, allies, and families welcome! Dogs are welcome!
