Pride 1983 Historic Marker Commemoration

June 25, 2022 marks the 39th anniversary of the Lesbian and Gay Pride March and Celebration in Burlington. The Vermont Agency of Historic Preservation has forged an Historic Marker to commemorate the courage of the original marchers and the many in our State who have sustained our ongoing movement that evolve into the vibrant LGBTQ+ communities we see throughout our state.

This event was organized by some of the original celebration organizers. The Pride Center of Vermont is sponsoring the Historic marker installation with a celebration in City Hall Park, in Burlington, on June 26, 2022 at 2pm.Please join us to celebrate this important event.

Burlington City Hall will be displaying Vermont Folklife Center’s Pride 1983 exhibit throughout the month of June.
The exhibit will be open in City Hall from 1pm-4pm on Sunday, June 26th

Celebration of 1983 First Vermont Pride Parade and Celebration City Hall Park, Burlington, Vermont Sunday, June 26, 2022 at 2PM Come Commemorate the First Vermont Pride Parade and Celebration in 1983 with the installation of a historic marker in City Hall Park Come stand with us and honor the Courage of the original 300 marchers Come be with each other and keep our Connections strong across the generations Come Celebrate with joy all that we are AT CITY HALL STEPS
