2STLGBQ+ Political Teach-In and Networking event

June 9 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm


Join Montpelier Pride, Barre Old Labor Hall, Barre Pride, and more in this space to strategize, skill up, learn to participate in politics and grassroots campaigns, connect to current happenings, and network with local organizations.  Event will run 12-4pm and be located at the Barre Old Labor Hall.  Potluck food dishes welcome.

Session Schedule:

12:15-1 pm Free Her Campaign session on VT Women’s prison project on abolition, decarceration, decriminalization, and the work to close the women’s prison

1:10-1:55 pm ACLU discussion “demystifying legislative advocacy” , taking folks through ways to engage with legislative advocacy on all levels

2:05- 2:50 pm VT Worker’s Center talking on grassroots campaigns and people power

3:00-3:45 pm Isaac Evans-Frantz speaking on How to Run A Political campaign.  Isaac Evans-Frantz (he/him)  started an LGBTQI+ caucus of the Vermont Democratic Party and in Brattleboro he serves as an elected member of Representative Town Meeting, and volunteers with a refugee resettlement agency.
