2021 LGBTQ+ Town Hall: Health Justice

January 21, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

What does health justice mean to you? How can we as an LGBTQIA+ community achieve health justice? Our framework for health justice comes from the San Francisco AIDS Project, which states: “When we achieve health justice, people in our community will have the economic, social and political power and resources to make decisions about their bodies and health–regardless of identities and experiences.”

Join us on Thursday, January 21st for a statewide conversation around health justice. In this Town Hall, we will have space to share what health justice means to us, have conversations around what work is happening in the State, and talk through joys/celebrations and barriers/challenges within health justice within our communities.

Taylor Small (Director of Health & Wellness, Pride Center of Vermont) and Eva Westheimer (Programs and Volunteer Coordinator, Out in the Open) facilitate.

ABOUT THE 2021 LGBTQ+ TOWN HALL SERIES:

The LGBTQIA+ Alliance of Vermont is hosting a series of Statewide Town Halls throughout Winter 2021 to hold space for our LGBTQIA+ community members to share what is important to them, explore ways folks are building in their own communities, and create or strengthen connections.

The LGBTQIA Alliance of Vermont is a loose coalition of organizations that support our queer and trans community members across the state. The organizations that collaborated to bring this series together include Out in the Open, Outright Vermont, Pride Center of Vermont, and Rainbow Umbrella of Central Vermont, with additional support from Queer Connect – Bennington.
