Pride Center of Vermont – Update 03-05-2026
Community Mapping Forums, Assembly & Affinity Conversations:
As part of the Pride Center of Vermont’s ongoing Community Mapping process with Madison Barney, we are entering an important phase of direct community engagement and are inviting you to participate.
Over the coming weeks, we will host three (3) hybrid Community Forums and one (1) hybrid Community Assembly. These gatherings are designed to help us better understand what services and supports currently exist for 2STLGBQIA+ Vermonters across the state and where there may be gaps, duplication, opportunities for collaboration, or unmet needs. Community Forums invite individuals to come and leave as they please. You can register for the forum(s) here.
- St. Johnsbury, VT – 3/18 6:00-8:00pm
- Montpelier, VT – 3/20 5:00-7:00pm
- Brattleboro, VT – 3/24 5:00-7:00pm
- Burlington VT – 4/15. 5:30-7:30pm
During the Community Forums, we will explore services and resources including but not limited to:
- Health and Wellness
- Support Groups
- Social Connection & Community Building
- Activism and Civic Engagement
- Education & Programing
- Mutual Aid Networks
- Recovery Services
- Social Services
- Legal access and affirming providers
These conversations are focused on identifying what infrastructure currently exists and how accessible, visible and sustainable those resources are.
As the Community Assembly, 4/18, we will present initial findings from the Community Mapping process and create space for community members to reflect, respond, and offer additional insights. This Assembly will help ensure that our interpretation of the data aligns with lived experiences before strategic decisions are finalized.
As a part of our Community Mapping Exercise, we also hosted six (6) virtual affinity group conversations based on focused outreach to communities often underrepresented in statewide planning, including BIPOC communities, transgender community members, rural communities, individuals with disabilities, youth and elders. To honor participants’ time and contributions, the first 15 people to register for each affinity conversation received a $50 gift card. If you were not able to participate in an affinity group conversation, but would like to share your perspective, we will continue to accept Community Wisdom form submissions through April. You can register for the forum(s) here.

This Community Mapping process directly informs our strategic planning, program alignment, and long-term sustainability work. Please read our previous update to learn more about the process and ways in which the findings will be gathered and shared. We will continue to accept Community Wisdom form submissions through April. We are extraordinarily grateful to our community with whom we hope to engage on this journey. Thank you, in advance, for any consideration you may give to participating.

Please note that the SafeSpace Anti-Violence Program continues operations at the Vermont Network.
