Pride Center of Vermont has announced the hiring of Phoebe Zorn as operations coordinator, a new position within the organization.

Zorn will be tasked with overseeing daily operations and administration of programs and services at Pride Center of Vermont. This work will include coordination of office procedures, volunteers, internal and external communications, and being the foundation that supports programs, events, community engagement, donor relations, database management, and general support for the executive director. The new position will ground administrative functions across the organization and enhance our capacity to serve LGBTQ+ Vermonters.

“We need to shift how we operate during a global pandemic in order to raise the funds to support our mission, programs, and community through this challenging landscape. This position allows us to do just that,” said Mike Bensel, executive director. “We are delighted to have Phoebe join our amazing team and are confident she will thrive in this new role.”

Zorn worked with Pride Center of Vermont within her most recent role as Performing Arts Center Coordinator at Main Street Landing in Burlington, VT. There, she assisted in the coordination and partnership of events between the two organizations, such as the ACLU film screening of Trans in America for 2019’s Pride celebrations.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Pride Center of Vermont,” said Zorn. “I’m really looking forward to leveraging my organizational and coordination experience to help serve the LGBTQ+ communities of Vermont.”

Zorn is a sixth-generation Vermonter, having grown up in Montpelier and the Northeast Kingdom before moving to Burlington. Prior to her five years at Main Street Landing, she was customer service and office manager at Arbortrek Canopy Tours in Jeffersonville, VT. She has been involved with many great projects and organizations since her arrival in Burlington, including volunteering as a band coach at a rock music camp for girls and girl-aligned children, and serving on the working board of Vermont’s only grassroots abortion fund, Vermont Access to Reproductive Freedom.
