In light of local and government responses to the COVID-19 / Coronavirus, Pride Center of Vermont has developed the following policies around our programming, services, and operations:

  • PCVT has increased our regularly scheduled cleaning, in addition to disinfecting the surfaces twice a day and between meetings.
  • All staff and volunteers have been asked not to come to the center if they have flu and/or coronavirus symptoms and to seek immediate treatment
  • Additionally, we continue to ask all staff to work from home if they are experiencing general illness symptoms to avoid the spread of any sickness
  • Masks are now available to those who need them (but please, if you feel like you need a mask, we strongly urge you to stay home)
  • PCVT will remain open for services and programs, including HIV testing and SafeSpace advocacy, until further notice. However, some programs may be limited, halted or changed location due to other institutions’ policies.
  • In order to provide continued support, we plan to have call-in options for support groups and other meetings
  • If at any point the center must close, this information will be listed on the homepage of our website and our Facebook page.
In order to ensure the safety and health of the community, we are asking all community members:

  • To please regularly wash your hands for at least 20 seconds. In our bathroom we posted suggestions for queer anthems that you can sing to make the time fly by!
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your elbow
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
  • To please stay home if you’re sick or think you’re getting sick
  • If you’re exhibiting flu-like symptoms, we are asking that you NOT attend events, support groups, or drop-in hours and seek medical treatment immediately
Pride Center of Vermont is committed to supporting the health and well-being of Vermont’s LGBTQ+ community. We plan to continue to do this work throughout any medical concerns within our community. Our community is resilient and we will continue to thrive.

If you have any general additional questions or concerns, please contact PCVT’s executive director at mike@pridecentervt.org. If you have questions or concerns about a specific event, please email the event organizer.
