New Song for Trans Solidarity

Hello Friends,

I'm a Boston musician who has recently written and recorded Pop-Up Boy in solidarity with the trans community - now more than ever!
The spoken word segment in the middle of the song is NC Governor McCrory - this song is in defiance of HB2.

I'll attach it below and invite (encourage!) you to post it, play it, share it as you feel appropriate - assuming you like it.

Seeking Participants for Research Project

Seeking participants for a research project on decision making

Hello everyone!

My name is Nicholas DeMassi, I am an economics student at the University of Vermont and I am seeking participants for my thesis research. In particular, I am looking to recruit self-identifying straight and gay men for a decision making study that involves playing a game and taking a short demographic survey.

Participation will involve compensation for your time. Playing the game does not involve interaction with other participants; however you will be in the same room as other participants. Your name and sexual orientation will not be known to other participants and will only be used by the researchers.

If you are interested in being a participant in this study or if you have further questions, please contact me at 774-254-1045(phone call or text) or ndemassi@uvm.edu. Thank you very much for your time!

Fiber Arts Group Makes Donation

Fiber Arts Group Makes Donation

The Pride Center is tremendously proud of the members of our LGBTQ Fiber Arts Group, who generously donated a parcel of their creations to several agencies providing services to Vermont’s vulnerable populations this past weekend. The group provided hats, scarves, and mittens to the VT Refugee Resettlement Project, Spectrum, and COTS.

Coordinator Megan Moerdyk said, regarding the F.A.G, “I was looking to connect with other LGBT people in a social context. I have always been creative and had done embroidery in the past so I decided to resurrect this craft and try the group [...] I loved giving out our group's amazing donations - we have very talented, generous members!” Group members have been tirelessly knitting and crocheting these items so they would be available to community members by winter.

Join this group of merry fiber artists! The Fiber Arts Group meets on second and fourth Sundays of each month at the Pride Center from 12-2 PM. Interested parties may email megan@pridecentervt for more information regarding the fun, irreverently funny, creative group.
